Ritigala is a mounting range, situated in north central province Anuradhapura district.
The history of Ritigala goes back to 3rd Cen. B.C. the First Sri Lankan Monk and became as an Arahath spent his monastic life at Ritigala.
Thereafter Ritigala became as a Buddhist monastery. Today we can see a wide spread of ancient ruins.
Ritigala is a wonderful Nature Reserve in Sri Lanka and also a good destination for bird watching. Ritigala is only 35 km away from world famous Sigiriya rock.
